VIII.
Riding a feral
kelpie is not foolish as seems
Copper eyes and
fiery breath
Should she tempt
you with no fear of tooth or sky
Mastery is not the
destination
Taming the beast
not the goal
Wild rivers run
sideways
Stars turn upside
down and float
Don’t wear your
thickest armor
Abandon your
deepest fears
The kelpie isn’t
here to point and laugh
Although she might
if provoked
It’s really just
self defense
If you fail your
quest don’t fear
Run till the moon
turns to sun
And the water a
lost memory
This is the next poem I'll be illustrating, either for 4 x 6 prints or as part of a zine, we'll see. I'm going to find a way to upload pictures again tomorrow or Thursday, as my procrastination over the weekend has resulted in really too much work to finish today... I'm also working on two more portraits like my Jessamine that I did over the summer. Enough to keep me busy this week.
Class soon, Bree out
