Singing smoke halos of faith
From the tops of the ghost line train
Serenading high hills
far away
Whilst gathering sun-drunk gin berries.
You lean in and sing of travel,
The footpaths and hidey-holes,
Secret adventures and their jubilant cries
From rooftops of distant lands.
The trail leads onwards,
If chosen to be taken;
Always wear gloves and scarves
To turn sideways and head through the briar
And biting, sweet pine
Leaving the trail sodden and untouched,
An antique relic of your worlds past.
