This past weekend Ariel and I spent three days camping on the coast. It was a nice mini-vacation after weeks of garlic harvest & prep, not to mention the usual load of farm duties. It was also a welcome escape from the heat (It was almost 90 today!).
We were recommended to visit Second Beach, just outside of La Push. A fairly short hike through the woods to the beach proper, and we were set.
While some may dislike misty, cool weather, especially on a beach camping trip, I thought that this was amazing. Although the periodic sprinkles made keeping our already-small fire going a bit of a challenge.
This was freezing, but refreshing first thing in the morning.
I can now say that I have been all the way from the far east coast to the far west coast. This also was an opportunity to mark a challenge off my birthday list (only 21 to go... not that I'm complaining). A bit last minute, this trip was worth every minute, and I really can't wait for the next time I can visit.
P.S. I have fabric to dye again! Soon there should be fat quarters in the shop if I'm not too bogged down or exhausted from work!
